I am an avid user of the Google Voice service and app on my Nexus One phone.
There are two features I’d love to see implemented in the Google Voice app:
- Ability to specify, through my contacts, which number is dialed using GV and which isn’t. An example of this would be setting up my wife’s contact record to always be called from my mobile number by default, but for ClientX to always be called using my Google Voice number. This setting would save time spent selecting the contact and selecting whether or not to use GV for the call before the actual call is initiated.
- When a call comes in, it’d be awesome to know (visually) that the incoming call was to my GV number.
Do you use Google Voice? Wouldn’t these features be useful and increase productivity?

I totally agree with your feature requests. Although there is a setting that allows you to specify that calls coming from the Google Voice number show your GV number as the caller ID. Identifying the caller then takes the extra step of answering and listening to the caller's message.
Yea I know about that setting, but that's to identify me when I make a call, which I have set to do the way I want. I just find it a productivity killer having to answer the phone to see if the caller is calling my GV number or my regular number.
No, I meant that there is an actual setting that shows (on your phone) your OWN GV number AS the caller ID for the person calling you. "Caller ID (in)" … you have to change that setting on the website, here:https://www.google.com/voice?pli=1#callsettings
Ah yes, I understand now — but that would mean I don't see real number of the person calling and can't visually screen
