RIM Developing an iPhone killer?

I’ve read a few reports on the web that claim RIM is currently developing a new touch-screen BlackBerry designed to compete with Apple’s iPhone.

This will be an interesting device to see — I wonder how business-friendly it will be.

That’s so awesome! I love my BlackBerry Pearl so I hope this is cool. I think calling it an “iPhone Killer” is completely off-base. I don’t think anything could kill the iPhone except Apple itself with a newer product.

I would think you, as an Apple fan, would know full well that predicting a competing product would “kill” the iPhone is a ridiculous conjecture. What you’re seeing is RIM responding to the marketing wanting a touch-screen phone and offering their own version so they don’t lose there BlackBerry users to the iPhone and probably also grab some users who don’t like the iPhone.

I guess I should have been clearer in my post. My bad. The Huffington Post had an article entitled the “BlackBerry Makers Plan Secret iPhone Killer.”

I remember a few years back when Nokia first came out with the E60, the media had called it a BlackBerry killer.

I agree with you on the product response from RIM — and I look forward to using the device.
