Which Grad Students Cheat?

by Sufian on September 21, 2006

A research paper revealed who among all grad students in North America cheated. The study was done on 5,300 graduate students in Canada and the U.S. The results based on field of study:

  1. Business (56%)
  2. Engineering (54%)
  3. Physical Sciences (50%)
  4. Medical/Health Care (49%)
  5. Law (45%)
  6. Liberal Arts (43%)
  7. Social Sciences (39%)

“The typical comment is that what’s important is getting the job done. How you get it done is less important. You’ll have business students saying all I’m doing is emulating the behavior I’ll need when I get out in the real world,” said the author of the study.

Do you agree with these numbers? Have any experience w/the issue?
